Cardinals Day

On Friday, we had the whole school wear red or some kind of Cardinal shirt or jersey. I just had to take a few pics of my class. Aren't they so cute?

Oh Happy Day (The finale)

All in all, we had a nice but short family reunion. I wish my sisters lived closer so we could get together more often. I love them very much. Thanks for coming down. I'm glad we had the weekend and that I had Martin Luther King Day off of work so I could visit all day.

Our "Elliott" family, poor Donovan, the sun was giving him major problems. He just couldn't keep his eyes open as you can see his scrunched up face.

Oh Happy Day (Part 2)

A few hours after being with my sister Vanessa and her family, Crystal, my middle sister, and her family flew into town. Oh, by the way....all of them stayed at my parents' house. My mom and dad didn't want to share and have any of them stay at my house. Oh well, maybe next time.
Crystal's family lives in Michigan and I don't get to see them that often except for the webcam. This was my first time meeting in person her new baby boy who is now 6 months old. Crystal is married to Dan and they have 3 boys: Donovan-4, Elliott-2, and Roswell-6 months. It was sooo great to see you guys again. I miss you already!!! Love you always!!
Who couldn't love this face, this is actually his smile. I love my new little nephew Roswell.

He has the lightest blue eyes, sooo cute.

So sorry Dan, I had to put this picture in. This is Crystal's hubby, Dan. I think he was pretending to be a fairy flapping his wings.

Here's another cutie nephew, Crystal's middle, Elliott, named after our maiden names.

YIPPPEEEE!!!! My sister Vanessa and her cute family came down for the weekend to visit. I got to play with them for a few hours before Crystal and her fam came into town. Vanessa and her husband Stephan have two adorable children that I love to death, Grant-5 and Zoe-3. They live in New Mexico and I'm sooooo glad to play with the kiddos and see my sis and her hubby. I love you guys!!!!

Lost Dutchman Trail

Jake and I took some of our friend, Geoff and Jamie and their cute daughter, Lucy with us hiking. We went to the Peralta Trail but went on a side trail called the Lost Dutchman. Unfortunately, we never found any gold but had a great time anyway. I stole these picks from Jamie's blog, thank you. We brought our camera but the memory card was left out. Ooops!

Christmas/New Years Hodge Podge

So as you can tell, I haven't been that good at posting lately...sorry....I need to stop doing Facebook. I just can't keep up. Anyway....here's a few highlights of our Christmas and New Year's Holiday.

Jake and I went to the Orpheum Theatre to watch "The Forgotten Carols" a few days before Christmas. It's a beautiful place, never been there before.

Yummy Caramel Popcorn

Last year, the mom of one of my students made me some YUMMY Caramel Popcorn. This is not your normal run of the mill caramel popcorn. It's soft and delicious. I just have to share the recipe. It make a lot too.

1 Stick butter
1 C. Brown Sugar
1 C. Mini Marshmallows

Melt Butter in a saucepan, then add brown sugar and marshmallows. Mix until a goopy substance. Make a big bowl of popcorn. Before adding the marshmallow mixture add 1/2 C. white chocolate chips and 1/2 C. butterscotch chips, and nuts to the bowl of popcorn , then pour the hot mixture over the top and stir.

I usually use microwave popcorn and this mixture will cover 3 bags worth of popcorn.

(My addition to her recipe: I made two "goopy" mixtures, because I didn't think it was enough over the 3 bags of popcorn. So either do the same thing or maybe lessen your popcorn to 2 bags instead of 3 and only do 1 "goopy" mixture.)

Enjoy!!!!!
